Well it has been an interesting couple of days. Thursday afternoon I found Muppet's runt looked like it had missed a meal. It still had energy so I put it under her to try and nurse while I cleaned the cage. She wanted none of it, so we brought it in ad tried to feed it. It would lick drops off it's lips but nothing more. We tried forcing Flutter to nurse it, no luck. Finally we just put it in with Flutter's litter since her babies always have neck rolls. Friday morning it had a nice round belly and was all snuggled up with its foster siblings.

The babies are one week old. Their colors are much more evident as the fur comes in. In Muppet's litter we have 5 chinchilla and 3 frosty/ermine. In Flutter's litter we have 1 cheastnut, 4 steel, and 4 black, although the blacks could develop ticking as they get bigger. We were kind of hoping to learn what is hiding under Muppet's REW, but since we have been hoping for a chinchilla doe, we are happy to have such great odds. Apparently whatever is under the REW is mostly recessive. They should start opening their eyes this weekend, so watch for videos of baby bunny interaction.
Baby Popples Video Well, we had to go out of town for 2 days, left Friday and came back this morning. The babies did well. The runts seemed a little less fed Friday and Saturday but they had nice bulging bellies today when we got back. I'm sure that they will catch up in no time.
It is looking like Muppet's litter will be white (not sure if REW or Frosty yet), and possibly chinchillas. It's looking like Flutter's litter will be black, gold tipped steel, and chestnut. *fingers crossed for the chinchillas* We had a cold/storm front roll in and the mom's pulled a bunch more fur to make the nests all cozy. I brought them into the house to check them out of the cold wind and rain. The dog gets all excited for babies, whining and pacing, and as soon as we set them down she just stares intently, wagging her tail. It is very amusing. As they get bigger she intently watches them grow. Well the day started early... 5am went to check the rabbits and found a full nest in Flutter's cage. 9 Squirmy babies and fresh (still warm) after-birth (yeah I accidentally stuck my hand in it). Ran off to work and was ansy all day (the first pictures were SUPER blurry because it was still dark). Got home between jobs at 4pm and everyone looked good. Still nothing from Muppet. When they were given evening greens Muppet just kind of ignored them (so it was reported).
Came home this evening to a box of fur in Muppets cage and 8 more babies! 17 total... Now I'm going to bed. Well.... Nothing during the day.... One last check before bed reveals two ladies still wishing the babies would come.... Maybe more so then me...
I'm not very good with this whole patience thing... I want babies! *sigh* I can't make them come any faster...
Still no babies as of 8pm on day 29. (9/2) Today is day 28 for does Flutter and Muppet. They have begun making nests, but there has been no "fur explosion". Previously Flutter gave birth on day 31, and Muppet on day 32. We shall see soon if they keep that schedule.
